The 7th Annual Harlem Renaissance Extravaganza and Festival
Can you picture it? Zoot Suits, Boas, Flapper Dresses, Swing Dancing, Big Bands, and a good ol' Harlem time.
We are taking you back to the 1920s Harlem Renaissance Era and the time of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, Lindy Hopping, Poetry, and the Black Arts Movement.
In Honor of Black History Month, you will get to experience the true essence of the Harlem Renaissance as Shelley Carrol (A Current Member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra) and his big band plays the music of the greats. You will be moved by the pop-up performances by the Cotton Club Dancers, The swing dancers, poets and vocalists.
There is nothing like this is Dallas and this formal affair only takes place once a year.

What is the Dress Code??? Formal or Semi-formal attire representing the 1920s 30s and 40s.
Proceeds will benefit Jazz Musicology (501c3 organization) Summer Camp which provides free music lessons to children in underserved communities.
